So we got the call from the doctor today regarding Piper's VCUG and ultrasound that she had done yesterday. She has Grade 1 reflux which is the the lowest--it goes up to Grade 4. She does not have to be put on an antibiotic, which is a relief. Her bladder looked good, her VCUG was negative (that was the catheter with dye to test for urinary reflux), her right kidney is good, but her left is a tad bit smaller than her right and is the one that has the Grade 1 reflux. She will have to go back in again in six months to have the ultrasound done again to see if it has stayed the same or gotten worse. If it gets worse, or goes to the next grade, then she will have to be put on what they call a management antibiotic which will keep her from basically getting any kind of infection. Basically a super powerful immune system. We are praying that it won't get wose and this will be something she will just outgrow. Praise God that it wasn't any worse!

So we made it through the weekend, although not without some excitement. Thanksgiving Day was split between Caleb's parents and my dad's house, Friday was spent around the house, and Saturday was spent at my mom's house. Well, all went well until the trip home from my mom's. We left there at about 10:00 pm or so and were on our way back to house when a deer decided he liked the look of our car. Our car decided it liked the deer...a lot. Now the deer is no more and our car is not a very happy one. Said deer had to be taken care of by the sherriff and said car is now moping at the body shop, undrivable to say the least. Our insurance is pretty cool, or at least as cool as insurance can get, but we get a rental car. I got to pick out whatever I wanted, so they gave me a '06 Jeep. Not my first choice, but all the vans were gone at the moment. I might get to trade for a different one tomorrow though. This one is probably a bit of a gas guzzler. It's got a big ol' V8 engine in it. It is also a little too big for me. I'm not a big fan of big vehicles--things tend to run into me a lot :) The adjustor has to come out and check out the car. We are kind of up in the air as to whether it will be a good thing or a bad thing if they total it out--yeah, it is that bad--the deer really liked our hood, radiator, grill, bumper, head lights, and some of the passenger side of the car. I told Ambry that the deer was really naughty and needed a spankin'. She responded with,"No, mom, the deer doesn't need a spankin'. It doesn't have a booty!"

So other than our poor car, our weekend was a lot of fun! I love spending time with family. I wish that there were more weekends like that. Hope everyone else's weekend was as much fun as ours.

Here is another picture from the park that I liked. PLEASE let this one have uploaded correctly!!! Otherwise I might just have to get a little upset :)

Happy Birthday to you

Happy Birthday to you

Happy Birthday to Caleb

Happy Birthday to you!!!

That was me singing happy birthday to Caleb. Be glad you weren't here for it seeing as how I do not sing very good at all :) Caleb turns the big 25 today. We are going up to my mom's for Thanksgiving tonight--we split it up every year between my dad's house, Caleb's parents, and my mom's--well mom went to http://www.gochicagocard.com/attractions/Shedd-Aquarium.html , so today we get to go up to her house and hang out with them. Ambry is so excited to go up there. She is even picking up her toys, which is huge for her :)
Yesterday was a gorgeous day and we headed over to the park to take our picture. There were quite a few that I really liked, but here are a few.

The one that is my favorite you will have to wait to see. It will be coming to your mailbox soon...hopefully anyway if I can decide which card to put it on. It is really hard to find one that isn't all Christmas or Santa Claus. I think I finally found one, but I need to make sure Caleb approves before I order it.

To Esther, do we get to see pics soon??? I can't wait to see your cuties!

*EDITED to fix the pictures...I hope :) (for the 3rd time!!! This had better work!)

COUNTDOWN TO CALEB'S B/DAY!!!

Only 3 more days till he turns 25! So I thought I would post some pics of him over the next couple days of him and the girls.

Caleb reading to Ambry on a Sunday afternoon. Poor girl was so tired.

Caleb pushing Ambry on the swing at the park.

Caleb and Ambry sledding last winter.

Just want to say thank you, Caleb, for being such an awesome dad and husband. You are always so willing to play with Ambry (and now Piper) and sooo patient. I love it that you are willing to make forts with Ambry, play hide-and-seek with her, and read her books over and over. Thank you for loving us!

HOMESCHOOLING...

So I keep thinking about homeschooling Ambry and the benefits/cons of it. This definitely helped quite a bit. http://www.focusonthefamily.com (I don't know if this link worked, but if it didn't just click and paste. When you get to the website, just search homeschooling. It will take you to the home page for it then). It is from Focus on the Family-Dr. Dobson. I think that my biggest worry with homeschooling is that I won't know quite where to start with her and also that she won't get enough interaction with other kids. Not to mention she is always saying how she can't wait to go to school and ride the bus. Not that it is all it is cracked up to be, but she gets so excited whenever she sees a school bus. I wish there was a one day trial period where she could ride the bus, go to school, see all the other kids and just want to come right back home. (Yeah right. She would probably be right at home with all the kids.) I think my biggest worry about sending her to school is all the sickos out there. By keeping her at home, I just think it would be so much easier to protect her. I wish that the perfect option for her would just present itself to me and I would just know what to do. Any one else's opinions on this would be greatly appreciated!!

So can you tell what Ambry's picture is here? It's a happy face! She made it out of marshmallows.

This is my favorite picture of Piper and me so far. Lo0ove that cute little face!

And another picture picked out by Ambry. Can anyone spy Ambry?

BUBBLE SHOOTER...that is the name of the game that I have been playing as of late. I have been playing it nonstop! http://gameyard.com/online/bubbles/ You have got to check out this game. It is a no-brainer kind of game. Just terribly addicting, or at least it is to me. Not much going on here. Just anxiously waiting for Piper's test day--November 27. There isn't even anything I can do if she does get sick, just call the doctor and they will start her on an antibiotic again. But I am such a worrier. Every little peep or moan that she makes, I instantly worry about her and have to hold her. The girl is going to be so spoiled that even when I do get the results of her tests, she won't want to be put down EVER!

Last night I had women's meeting and got home long after Ambry's bedtime. I went to go check on her last night, thinking of course she would be(or should be)in her own bed. Can't find her. I should have known better than to check her room first. I go to lay Piper down in her bassinet in my room and lo and behold, there's Ambry all snuggled in with Caleb, complete with Care Bears and her Dora doll of course. She's got this things with "nests" lately. Something my mom started. You build a nest of animals around them and they lay in the middle and voila, you've got yourself a nest. Now her Care Bears and Dora doll are all the same size as her, so there I am, fishing them out of our bed because there was definitely no room for me. Too cute. :)

Sweet, sweet baby...

Here is Piper the other night. She normally doesn't sleep on her back, but I think she was so tired, she didn't even care how I laid her down. They look so innocent when they're leeping like this.

Ambry wanted a picture of her also...

"Mom, 'a' is for Ambry!" I love it when she remembers things like that. Of course when I ask her tommorrow, she will not remember any of it.

She picked this picture thinking that no one would be able to see her hiding. So can anyone spy Ambry?

Look at those BIG eyes! It always cracks me up to see those startled looks when their picture is taken. I think that these kinds of home photos are my favorite.

My sweetie has finally been feeling better too. Her antibiotic has really kicked in and must have completely kicked out whatever nasties were left in her system.

From Ambry... "mom, 'p' is for Piper!" I guess they really do listen to some of the things you say :)

Another update on Piper...

The results from her tests came back positive for a UTI. That means more tests. She is going to have to have the ultrasound of her kidneys and bladder done and the VCUG. They won't be done until the end of the month, so we have a little while yet to go. I just found out from my neighbor that her daughter was diagnosed with the same thing at about three weeks old. She was given a 20% chance of geting better on her own. By the time she was about four years old, she had outgrown it!!! She had to be on an antibiotic every day and have the ultrasound and VCUG done about every 12-18 months. She also said that the upside of being on the antibiotic was that her daughter wasn't sick at all the first five years of her life. Soooo, please keep Piper in your prayers and Lord willing her tests will come back all okay.
