It is one of those days and this is what I feel like doing...absolutely nothing. Unfortunately today is one of those days where it seems like I have an endless list of things to do. :( So I will instead wish I was taking it easy, cuddling with my girls, and making a pillow out of a pile of laundry that needs to be folded.

I will be breaking out the coffee and making it a little stronger today for some added caffeine. That does work, right? Hoping it does...

On our last day of vacation, we went to the Feast of the Strawberry Moon. I'm not sure why they call it that since it had nothing to do with strawberries. There were people all dressed up in costumes from the 18th century. Here is a brief description from their website:

This 18th Century living history event re-creates life here when fur trading was our principal industry. Re-enactors portray life here between 1760-1820. This family event includes children's games, candle making, tomahawk throw, 18th Century entertainment, demonstrations, military battles and a taste of 18th Century foods.

Here is a pic of the event that was going on at noon. It was a contortionist/clown and his "owner". The clown was juggling while standing on the owner's shoulders.

Here the clown has 3 flaming torches that she juggled while standing on the owner's belly. You can see him doing a back bend in back of her.

The girls and Caleb making their own candles.

And this says it all. An awesome vacation, but tiring. Poor Piper fell asleep on the way home and couldn't be woken up for anything. :)

A few more random pics from our last night and day of camping. The girls Uncle David spent the night and the girls thought it was an awesome treat to be having breakfast with him again in the morning--he used to live with us a year ago.

Tara and her husband, Josh, also spent the night and here Piper is cuddling with Tara in the morning.

Ambry, Piper, Jacqueline, Olivia, Colton, and I climbed up a small dune. Here Piper is at the top sitting on a fallen tree branch. I wish I would have taken some more pics of everyone climbing. I didn't do very good with taking lots of pics this year.

One day on vacation, it drizzled off and on all day. So I took the girls and our "neighbor" Jacqueline and her two kids, Olivia and Colton, downtown to see what we could find to do. We came across this free museum. The kids had a blast checking everything out.
Here is a picture of a dollhouse. I thought it was amazing how much detail went into it.

Ambry washing clothes. They had a washboard set up and the ringer--not too sure what it is really called.

All 4 kids in the General Store.

Piper with an apple in the General Store.

Ambry in the wigwam. This is what caught Jacqueline's eye as we were walking downtown and enticed us to go in.

This is an awesome museum to take kids to. The museum workers didn't mind the running and yelling which was really good for us since Colton and Piper were running everywhere. :) I wished I would have taken more pics. They had a room of the Presidents, another area of some of the first appliances invented, a very old player piano that you could try out for yourself, and tons of other stuff. Very cool place for a field trip and since it is right by the beach, also a fun place to go afterwards.

Get ready for picture overload. Here are a bunch from our camping vacay at Grand Haven.

Both of the girls with their suckers from the candy store.

On the pier, and with their suckers, of course. :)
Daddy and Ambry
Daddy and Piper
Piper with my glasses on. She kept squinting her eyes in all her pics. :)
And one of my favorites. Sisterly love. So cute.

I really, really, really hope that this isn't a sign of what is to come.
This is how she came into my room last night...a bracelet with a break in it that she clipped to her nose. Bright idea, right?

Just a couple of quickies from making s'mores the other night. The internet connection keeps going in and out this morning. :(

Piper falling asleep while eating her s'more.

Can't wait to see those who are coming out to play volleyball tonight! And if you didn't get a call, consider yourself invited now. :)

We are off camping this week! Yeah! But I found a local coffee shop that sells yummy coffee--what else?--and also has free internet connection. So I am sitting here updating my blog and eating a HUGE cookie in the shape of a flip flop with Ambry. :)

Ambry had her dance recital this past Saturday. She did so good. We had conveniently lost our video camera--insert sarcasm here--and I was not able to video tape her but at least I got lots of pics. Unfortunately none of the ones on stage of her turned out but they will be putting up ones of the girls onstage taken by a professional photographer so hopefully some of those turned out.

Ambry all ready to go. She looks so grown up!

Ambry and Allie.

Ambry, Allie, Annika, and Sarah.

Katia, Ambry, and Annika practicing their posing.
Ambry getting home and coming up the front walk to find flowers from Poppa and Grandma.

Here she was getting ready to smell the flowers. If I had time I could fix the ones of her looking so excited when she saw the flowers. The color is all crazy on them. :(

And since I'm not sure when I will have time again, here are a couple of pics from camping. Caleb really wants to go golfing while we are camping and since there wasn't a whole lot of room to store golf clubs, here is where they ended up. :)

Piper didn't want to wait for a roasted marshmallow, so she grabbed one while I wasn't looking and shoved the whole thing in her mouth.

Typical Piper. Flipping her hair over her shoulder.

Running down to the water...

...running away from the water! It is only 54 degrees right now! I'd be running too. :)

Both girls sleeping in the stroller after a bike ride. And yes I know, Ambry is getting way too big for the stroller. She is a big scaredy cat though and won't learn how to ride a bike. :) Little stinker. Hopefully this summer she will learn though, since I don't think the stroller is going to be able to support her for too much longer.
