Ambry 3rd lost tooth!
Ambry could not have been any happier to have finally lost one of her top teeth. Her Poppa pulled it out for her much to her surprise. But it was over quickly with no tears, just one very excited little girl.
Ambry and I also finished our first 500 piece puzzle together. Although I have to say that I think on the next one, she is going to have to chip in a little bit more time. :)
This week has also began quite busily for me. I canned 42 pints of pineapple and 17 quarts of applesauce. The applesauce isn't pictured because I was too exhausted to get out the camera to take another picture. Plus I think most people already know what canned applesauce looks like and you don't need to see another boring picture of that. :)

I don't know about you, but whenever I see Piper in sunglasses, she reminds me of a mini rocker...or something. :) The crazy hair that she usually sports and the oversize sunglasses? So cute!
This is the look she tries to pull off whenever we get to the store. Always trying to imitate Mom.
And the bathtub? Well, the sunglasses would work quite well in the bathtub too, wouldn't they? Of course they would, Piper. Look at that grin. She couldn't be any happier!
So I finished canning my first bushel of pears last night. Unfortunately I forgot about the last seven jars I put in the canner. I got a little distracted with putting kids to bed and cleaning and, well, just stuff. Well these last seven cans got a little overcooked....by about 2 hours overcooked!!! Help! What do you do with pears that overcooked? Will they be all right to eat? Should I try to do something else with them? Make jam? I just don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What to do when you have 3 "expert" strawberry pickers (Kasey, Rosie, and Ambry) with you and you end up with 37 pounds of strawberries? You make jam! Well, I didn't know of anything else to make...

Last night I got all of my pears done and canned. Yeah! Thanks to Esther stopping by and helping me out, I was only up to 1:00 last night. If she hadn't stopped by, I would probably have been up till at least 2:00. I got 28 jars done and all but one of them sealed. I will be happy if I don't have to ever peel another pear again! I seriously thought that my nose hairs had been singed with the smell of pears. I had to take a shower because I smelled like one giant sticky pear and also felt like one. While I was takinga shower I could still smell the pears. It was like they had attached their smell to me...permanently. Today is a little better, although it doesn't make me as happy as I had hoped when I looked at my jars of pears this morning. I think there should be more...lots and lots more! Oh well. At least we'll have some good fruit to eat this winter.
This past Saturday, Esther and I took the kids raspberry picking. I was really surprised that Ambry did as good as she did. She actually managed to pick quite a few. At least she enjoyed raspberry picking more than blueberry picking. We went for about an hour and picked about 5 pounds. I went back by myself later that afternoon and picked another 4 pounds. I froze two bags (1/2 gallon bags) of them and made jam out of the rest. Here are a couple pics of us picking raspberries.

Have a good Wednesday!
