Conversation with Ambry

We were taking a shower this morning and here is what she said:

A: "Did God make my belly?"
M: "Yes, He did."
A: "Did God make my toes?"
M: "Yes, He did."
A: "Did God make my legs?"
M: "Yes, He did."
A: "Did God make your toes?"
M: "Yes, He did."
A: "Did God make your CHUNKY legs?"
M: "Yes, He did."

Thank you to Ambry for making me feel oh so good about my body. Just when I think I have enough issues, she raises another one to my attention.

Fun in the snow...Aren't they too stinkin' cute? Ambry and I showed up with the same hat as little miss R. and I didn't even know that we had gotten the same one as her. Good ol' Target sales...gotta love them!

Piper and Uncle G. I was so worried she was going to flip right over backwards, but she had such a grip on his hair, there was no way she was going anywhere. Obviously, she was loving it.

If there was a date and time on this picture I would be so embarrassed. But I will tell you anyway. I stayed up a tad too late the night the night before and was still in bed when my sister got there. She was NOT amused seeing as how we were supposed to be at our younger sister's swim meet. She thought Piper looked cute though and snapped some pictures. As for me, can you tell I'm a little tired?

Ohhh...and the time was 9:30. In the morning! Terrible, I know.

WORKS FOR ME WEDNESDAY

FREE STUFF!! Gotta love free stuff right? Here are some links to free stuff. Just fill out the forms and you will be getting your stuff in the mail shortly after--generally 3-6 weeks, although sometimes it is sooner. All of these I have already gotten, so they are tried and true.

http://009f0a5.netsolhost.com/enroll.php Baush and Lomb eye care set

https://www.aveeno.com/ageless/signup-special-offer.jsp Aveeno coupon and free lotion

http://www.startsampling.com/sm/22707/captureAddress.iphtml?item=22707&source= Pantene shampoo and conditioner. This one is from Walmart. If you ever find one from Walmart, they are awesome about sending free samples. I have got every one that I signed up from them for.

http://walmart.triaddigital.com/Free-Samples.aspx Walmart's free samples home page. Check if out and see if there is anything else you need.

This is what works for me. Yes, it is a little bit tedious trying to find the samples you want, but I figure whatever I sign up for and don't want, I can always try to sell it at my garage sales that I have every year. That is a very nice 100% profit. Anyway, hope there is at least one thing you like in these links. Go to Rocks in My Dryer for more great tips.

All right. Here they are. The pictures are a little dark because one of the lights is out down there and we don't have any more of the bulbs right now. They are the long tube thingys. We also have to finish putting up the baseboards and face plates and get new clear ceiling tiles, but you get the idea. I painted this picture to match the room. Like it?
I was going for a kind of bubble effect I suppose. Not sure, but just thought that it would make for a really fun idea for a playroom. I can't decide yet if I want to put up some kind of saying painted on the wall yet or not.

It looks a lot better than the pictures do. Or maybe I just think so? Well, let me know what you think. Fun for a playroom or a dorky idea?

I've been busy, busy, busy over here. I have been working on taking down some wallpaper in the girls toyroom . It was old seventies striped stuff...not really my style. I finally got that down. I was so glad it was just on one wall. Then I got it all painted. I also did the closet because it was a pretty ugly tan color. I didn't even know that people painted closets anything but white. So I redid that and it looks a lot better.

Last night I started putting up the 'bubbles'. I really wanted a fun idea to do for down there and I had a couple of quarts of different blues that I picked up for about $3.00 from the paint store. I am painting different shapes of random 'bubbles' on the walls. Now I am just trying to find a cute saying to stencil on the walls. I will show the final picture when it is all done. I am even going to attempt to build some shelving down there myself. I betcha twenty bucks though, Caleb will take that job over for me. He is a stickler about angles and how straight things are. Not to mention if I built them they might come out a little dillapidated anyway. :)

I am also painting a canvas that was left here from the former owner of our house. I am going to do something with the girls hands and feet on it. Not sure just what yet, but I thought that it would be a cute idea to do down there.

We also put up a ping pong table this weekend, so we were busy cleaning out one of the storage rooms that we have in our basement. We have two huge rooms downstairs and it worked out perfect to put the table down there. Caleb is loving it! We have already used it so much more than I even thought we would. Eventually we are going to put up some cheap paneling down there. It is just studs on two of the walls and then on the other two just open concrete from the foundation of the house. He wants to acid stain that with some really cool design.

I am taking a photography class also in two weeks! I am so excited about it! I will get to learn more about taking better pictures and working with natural light. She is also going to go over the different settings on the cameras that we bring. I can't wait! I want to learn so much more about taking pictures. I have been trying to keep an eye out for a cheap camera--a used one would be great, but I haven't found one cheap enough. I just don't dare buy one off of Ebay yet. I am hoping that when I take this class, the teacher will maybe know someone selling a used one or where I could geat a good price on one. This is the one I've been eyeing though. It is just slightly out of my price range though.

Hopefully I will have some pictures of the girls to post next time. Also if you could, please keep my uncle and aunt in your prayers. They lost their son last week in a rock climbing accident. He was only seventeen.

Too cute... Ambry and Aunt Kaylynn putting make-up on. Ambry was so happy that Aunt KK let her put on make-up. You should have seen how excited she was to show me her 'beautiful face'.

Conversation at lunch with Ambry

Ambry is sniffing real loud through her nose proceeds to say:
A: "Momma, crusteses (crusts) are good for my sneezer (nose)! They make it feel all better!"
M: "That is good. Who told you crusts are good for your sneezer?"
A: "I tink...I tink...(ignores questions ) I will grow up with crusteses. They will make me bigger and bigger and BIGGER!"

Ambry is obssessed with growing up lately. Everything that she eats that she thinks is gross will all of a sudden make her grow up so she can go to school. Some other things that will make her grow bigger is chicken pasta, broccoli, and momma's makeup. Where do they come up with this stuff??

It is boredom city over here! I think we are going out of our minds over here!!! Definitely can't take too much of being cooped up over here. It is frigidly cold outside today. The forecast is calling for a high of eight.
E-I-G-H-T degrees!!! I feel bad sending Ambry outside when it is that cold. Yesterday we tried to dig a hole in the giant snowpile that Gerrit made in our front yard from plowing, but we didn't get very far. I am extremely out of shape! I remember making all kinds of tunnels through snow piles when I was younger, but I don't remember it being so hard! I told Ambry she could just have a little igloo instead. Igloos are cooler than tunnels anyway...right?

So to further occupy our time, I made the girls sit nice for me and take some pictures of them. Here are some of Piper.

And a some of Ambry

You can see she was not as enthused about this as Piper was. :)

This is what she called her princess face? I wonder what princess she thinks looks like this???

This is what we woke up to this morning.
Check out that huge overhang of snow! None of that was really there last night. That is how much more snow we got and how much the wind was blowing around existing snow. It is unbelievable out here! All of the malls were shut down, a ton of churches were closed already last night, all school activities were closed, police had shut down major highways at quite a few spots, the airport was snowed in--Caleb had to take a train to get home--and there was even a rumour going around that if police caught you out on the road they were handing out tickets for driving out there after them having issued a warning that there was to be no one out on the road except for emergencies. Crazy!
Check out how much more snow we got on our patio table now since last night. There is about 3-4 feet of snow on our deck right now. It is terrible out on the roads right now still. We got ready for church, all packed in the car and bundled up. I had blankets, snacks, and water packed in case we got stuck anywhere...and we did get stuck...at the end of our street! It took about three minutes for Caleb to finally get us unstuck and meanwhile I am having a panic attack. I can NOT stand driving in the snow/riding in the snow!!! I do NOT like it! So I have my little panic attack and Caleb brings the girls and me back home and he goes to church by himself. He made it there and back safe and sound, but he was gone a good 45 minutes longer than normal. We definitely won't be leaving our house anytime soon for anything...or at least I won't be! :) Stay safe out there if anyone else has been receiving this terrible weather!

The weather out here has been terrible! Caleb is supposed to come back from San Diego today and I just don't think it is going to happen. He flies into Chicago and I don't think he'll have a problem getting there, but I definitely think he will have a hard time getting home. We are now under a blizzard warning until 10:00 pm and we are supposed to see upwards of eight inches yet today. It is crazy!

The first pic is looking out my front window. And, no, my window is not fogged up. That is snow. That is actually a pretty clear pic too, because it actually is snowing more than that right now.

Check out all that snow! Ambry definitely won't be going out today. Our temp is supposed to feel like 20 to 30 below zero what with the windchill. The actual temp outside won't reach above 10 degrees today! Nasty cold out there. My poor brother has been out plowing since 1:30 in the morning and said he'll be stopping by here for breakfast around 10:00 and then has to head right back out again to start his route over again. Poor guy is going to be exhausted by the time he gets it all done. I think today is one of those days where it is just nice to cuddle up together in front of the fire and try to keep warm. Hope you stay warm today!
